Bleeding Hemorrhoids

Bleeding Hemorrhoids, although common, are an annoying, painful, and embarrassing ailment. Common symptoms of bleeding hemorrhoids include pain, bleeding, irritation, and itching. They are swollen veins in the anal area that occur when too much strain is placed on the pelvis and rectum. The strain can be caused by a number of factors such as constipation, pregnancy, or prolonged periods of sitting or standing. But in order to avoid bleeding hemorrhoids, or relieve the pain of hemorrhoids that already exist, its important to reduce the strain on the veins of the anus. I recommend the product Oxy-Powder for constipation.

Natural Tretmant for Bleeding Hemorrhoids

I recommend taking 2 tablespoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with 8 ounces of water before each meal. Also the product Hematrex is very useful in shrinking swollen veins. A topical cream can be applied as well. I recommend the product O2-ZAP from Global Healing Center.

Bleeding Hemorrhoids Caused by Strain

There are a number of factors that contribute to the excessive strain in the rectal area that cause bleeding hemorrhoids. Constipation and diarrhea are the most common culprits. Pregnancy is another contributing factor along with child birth, weight, improper lifting technique and prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Let’s take a look at each of these factors and determine the best way to minimize their effects on bleeding hemorrhoid development.

Constipation and Diarrhea Cause Bleeding Hemorrhoids

Constipation and diarrhea are common causes of bleeding hemorrhoids. The excessive straining during bowel movements associated with constipation, and the explosive bowel movements of diarrhea, both put tremendous pressure on the anus. Increase fresh fruit, fiber and water consumption to soften and bulk up stools making them easier to pass. Daily exercise will also help to stimulate the digestive muscles and move waste through the system more quickly.

Pregnancy can Cause Bleeding Hemorrhoids

The pregnant body goes through many beautiful changes. As the baby grows, the mother’s belly swells to accommodate her new child. Unfortunately, many other part of the mother’s body swell as well, putting a strain on all of her systems. Internally, the mother’s body experiences an increase in hormones and blood volume to care for her growing baby. The increased level of hormone especially, tends to slow down some of the mother’s internal systems, namely, her digestive system. And this terrific combination of extra weight, slower bowels, and difficulty sitting or standing, provides the perfect environment for bleeding hemorrhoids to develop. Indeed, between twenty and fifty percent of all pregnant women will develop bleeding hemorrhoids during at some point in the pregnancy. Lie down and rest as often as possible throughout the day to avoid placing too much strain on rectal veins. And practice Kegel exercises regularly to strengthen the vaginal muscles, improve circulation, and prevent or alleviate the symptoms of bleeding hemorrhoids. To do Kegels, firmly tense the muscles around the vagina and the anus (as if you were trying to suppress the urge to urinate.) Hold the tense muscles for as long as you can, working up to a limit of eight to ten seconds for each repetition. Slowly release the muscles and relax. Try to do at least twenty-five repetitions of this exercise at various times throughout the day.

Child Birth and Bleeding Hemorrhoids

Never will the pressure be greater on the rectal area than during child birth. If you had bleeding hemorrhoids during pregnancy, it is likely that the intense pushing associated with labor will make them worse. And if you were free of bleeding hemorrhoids before child birth, it is entirely possible that you will be going home with yet another thing to care for in the postpartum period. Daily exercises such as walking and Kegel exercises can be extremely beneficial in alleviating hemorrhoids that develop during labor. Daily exercise will stimulate the digestive muscles to prevent constipation. And though you may have thought you were finished with Kegel exercises once labor and delivery were over, these exercises can improve circulation to the rectal area and can prevent or alleviate bleeding hemorrhoids.

Excess Weight and Bleeding Hemorrhoids

People who are overweight have a higher incidence of hemorrhoids than people who are not. Excess weight places a greater amount of stress on the body in general, especially the delicate veins of the rectum. Daily exercise can not only improve circulation and aid in weight loss, it is also helpful in avoiding any constipation that could cause bleeding hemorrhoids.

Improper Lifting Technique

Improper lifting technique places undo strain on the veins of the rectum. Do not try to lift objects that you are not physically strong enough to lift. Bend at the knee when lifting heavy items or when lifting anything off of the floor. Inhale deeply before lifting and release a slow controlled exhale as you lift. This will reduce strain to the pelvis and rectum as well as the knees, back, and arms.

Prolonged Periods of Sitting or Standing

Sitting or standing for long periods without a break allows blood to pool in the veins of the anal area. This increased blood volume places a great deal of strain on rectal veins. Try to alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day. If your job requires you to do one or the other, try to stretch you legs for just a few minutes every hour by alternating position.
